Hola a tod@s, my dear friends.
As you know, is taking place in Barcelona the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) congress. One of the initiatives that are being conducted, thanks to Life Priority and with the support of the Spanish Society of Intensive, Critical Medicine and Coronary Units (SEMICYUC) is the Train with Destination LIFE.
During a train trip, interested travelers receive a course of 30 minutes on basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use of semi-automatic defibrillators. As we all know a witness of a cardiac arrest, has only 4 minutes to save a life and avoid sequels neurological, and for this reason it is important to know how to act in these cases.
SEMICYUC and Life Priority were able to recruit 150 volunteers teachers in less than 48 hours, thanks to the invaluable help of the Catalan Society of Intensive Medicine (SOCMIC).
In addition, during those days were installed tents of formation in Adif in Barcelona Sants station, as well as the of Marseille Saint Charles, Paris Gare de Lyon, Toulouse Matabiau and Lyon Part.Dieu.
In Barcelona Sants station, a truck plays a room of Resuscitation in which also is are giving free half-hour training courses to all interested persons.
Life-Priority was founded in 2011 and brings together more than 7,000 members, all of them professional resuscitation from around the world, and its aim is to raise funds to finance programs of research, training of caregivers, as well as initiatives to accompany best intensive care patients and their families. It also promotes the formation of the greatest possible number of people about the essential of cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuver, and sensitize institutions, public authorities, companies and citizens about the importance of resuscitation.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is one of the hallmarks of Intensive Medicine, and is perhaps the clearest example of how to save a life, just need a person trained and formed.
Let’s go back to the basics, let us remember that.
Only one person can save another one. You don’t need more.
